Distraught

There's only so much emo a person can handle in one day, and upon logging in and seeing Google Reader will be gone come July 1, I'm putting my somewhat (emo) planned on post for today on hold.

But seriously.
What, did google say, "OH, we have this really convenient successful tool that MILLIONS of bloggers (do normal people use it? I'm not even sure) use to read shit so let's TAKE IT AWAY and FREAK EM ALL OUT." Fuck you, google. (not even sorry about the F bomb, guys.) I think more companies need to adopt the mindset of the Catholic Church- change is NOT a good thing! Stick with what you do well! Just kidding. I'm Catholic, so I can say these things. aannnddd what with the new pope bizness I thought this would be semi-inappropriate.

So unbelievably anoying. Does this mean the GFC button on blogs will be gone? YOU GUYS I finnnnaaallllyyyy have a respectable number of followers (hi 84 of you!) and I don't want to LOSE you so whattdoiDO. But seriously. HALP.

I need coffee.

This week, just.... woof.

  3. Ok, I don't consider myself new to the blogworld anymore considering it's been almost a year... but to read the blogs I have "followed," I just go to blogger.com and scroll. Am I the only person in the world that does this? Because it feels that way after seeing everyone's response to the google reader thing.

  4. Yeah, i just got a Bloglovin account today. So we'll have to follow each other there. I agree - it SUCKS! I used to just read from my dashboard (like the above comment), but then i discovered the "next" button thru google reader - it's on your toolbar & just takes you to each of your favorite blogs that are set up in reader. Argh!!

RUDE!! is all i can say. And yes, normal people use them. I know several people that don't blog but read blogs. So. Yeah. :(

  6. I also follow you on bloglovin'... the only downside to it will be having to leave the person's blog in order to follow them. The handy dandy GFC widget was amazing... hopefully Bloglovin' comes up with something similar.

  7. like everyone else, the articles I've been reading have suggested Bloglovin' or Feeddler

p.s. the GFC widget has only been retired (since March 2012) for those who are not using Blogger sites (so like me on Wordpress, I can't have it). But you should be okay! :)

  9. I'm secretly hoping Google won't like all the backlash (read: whining) and will change their minds. And yes, non-bloggers use it to follow all sorts of sites. I used it for blog and non-blogs.
